For once we have a story out of the Chinese version of World of Warcraft that isn’t about NetEase having to deal with RMT boosting: The operators of this version of the MMORPG have officially unveiled a new Titan Reforged server due in November, bringing another way for fans to re-experience old content.
This new “Time” server will randomly release raids from Classic, Burning Crusade, and Wrath of the Lich King, scaling all raids to level 80 and teams of 25 players, along with a way for players to upgrade well-known legendary weapons through the length of the server’s progression. Ahead of the server’s opening, Chinese fans will be able to take part in pre-release events this week to earn exclusive cosmetics for clearing certain instances.
While this server is going to be exclusive to Chinese fans, it’s notable for WoW fans in the west for the fact that, as Wowhead reports, this server will be the Classic team’s focus for the next year, while NetEase noted back when these servers were announced this past July that the next Classic content will be globally released, all of which adds another log to the presumptive fire of an official Classic Plus server launch.
